What Is ANCOP?

ANCOP is an acronym for ANSWERING THE CRY OF THE POOR.

It is a program founded by Couples for Christ, now a duly registered entity under the name CFC ANCOP-TEKTON FOUNDATION, INC., and was made for the purpose of consolidating CFC efforts in BUILDING THE CHURCH OF THE POOR.

ANCOP is a licensed Social Welfare Agency by the Department of Social Welfare & Development.

 

During the recollection, team-building and planning held last November 29, 30 and December 1, 2010, the CFC ANCOP team, volunteers and CFC leaders revisited the ANCOP Vision and Mission. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the able facilitation of Bro Pito de Castro of Cebu, the group came up with a more streamlined Vision and Mission.

• Attract others by being witnesses, and by example of Christ’s love and service

• Members are their brother’s keepers, and where brethren live and experience the fullness of God’s love.

 

The work of Couples for Christ as a global community of family evangelizers begins with one's personal relationship with God. Through this intimate connection, personal renewal begins.  Like the ripples formed on the surface of water when a pebble is dropped in it, this personal renewal extends towards the family, the surrounding community, and ultimately towards all of mankind.  Such is the impact of this personal renewal with one's Creator that it undulates love that can only overflow from God, to one's self, and eventually towards one's neighbor.

 

From love of God to love of neighbor (Matthew 22:37-40), CFC aims to heed the cry of the poor through ANCOP so that there will be no one in need (Acts 4).
